The work assignment and pay-rate are decided by the Dean of the school. Student employment scholarship must be renewed every semester.
Scholarship Applications
All applicants for scholarships must attain a 2.5 GPA or higher in the previous semester. Students desiring to receive financial assistance must submit a scholarship application at the time of registration each semester. The application is supplied at registration or can be obtained at the administrative office.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee has the task of screening the awarding of scholarships, fund-raising, and managing scholarship funds. It is organized as follows: President (Chair), Chief Academic Officer, Dean of Students, CFO and Financial Aid Office. All matters that are not stipulated clearly shall be discussed and decided by the Scholarship Committee of the school which ordinarily meets once each semester.
Student Tuition Recovery Fund
California law requires that, upon enrollment, fees be assessed in relation to the cost of tuition (Education Code Section 94343). These fees support the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF), a special fund established by the California Legislature to reimburse those students who might otherwise experience financial loss as a result of an untimely school closure. Students may be reimbursed by STRF only for the prepaid, but unused tuition. Institutional participation is mandatory. It is important that enrollees keep a copy of any enrollment agreement, contract, or application in order to document enrollment; tuition receipts or canceled checks in order to document the total amount of tuition paid; and records which show the percentage of the course which has been completed. Such records substantiating a claim for reimbursement from the STRF, which to be considered, must be filed within one year following a school¡¯s closure.
